The Mix Place is a well-designed bookstore and select shop located in Shanghai. Founded by Guangzhou’s famous Fang Suo Commune, it aims at creating an experimental space for modern urban culture. The store’s four old, Western style townhouse building isn’t where we’d expect to find a bookstore. Not only do they have an intricate selection of art, photography, and cinema magazines, the store also sells clothing and often holds exhibitions, open house events, art and music events, and even acts as a fashion showroom from time to time. The store also selects a variety of products from creative brands, comprehensively showcasing the experimental and versatile spirit of modern China.
