Help keep each encounter alive
Eastbounder began in Asia, but does not end there. Wherever there are people and stories worth meeting, we keep walking toward the sunrise. Eastbounder is an open platform with no reader fees or subscription model, so we do not currently have a steady source of income from which to pay regular contributor fees. We invite people who share this idea to join as collaborators and help preserve the people, places and encounters that shape everyday life in different parts of the world.
Local interview partners
Begin in the city where you live. Meet someone worth listening to, then follow them to the shops, streets and everyday places they genuinely care about. This is not a commercial review; it is a record of the relationship between a person and a place.
Photography partners
Photograph portraits, spaces and the small details of everyday life. Work with respect for the people and the moment, without over-staging what is already there.
How we work together
- Respect the people you meet and the local context. Verify names, dates and factual details.
- Always obtain permission before interviewing or photographing. Contributors retain copyright and grant Eastbounder permission to publish the submitted work.
- Eastbounder does not charge readers and has no subscription model, so we cannot offer regular contributor fees at this stage. Any future commissioned or commercial work will be discussed separately, including scope and payment.
- Every submission is reviewed with the editorial team; submission does not guarantee publication.
How to join
Tell us your name, city and country, the language or role you would like to contribute, a link to your work or relevant experience, and one person or place you hope to introduce.
Media experience is not required. We care most about whether you are willing to listen carefully and document honestly.
